Where Camping is King!

Troop 309 is committed to the outdoor spirit. Scouts learn leadership, survival skills, cooking, first aid and other skills during campouts.  The Scouts plan outings to take them to places they may not have been otherwise.  Some of our outings have included trips to:

· Family campout and hiking at Chain of Lakes State Park

·   Hiking and camping at Starved Rock State Park

·         Caving at Eagle Cave

·         Mountain biking at Kettle Moraine

·         Road America at Elkhart Lakes

·         Grant Days Celebration held in Galena, IL

·          Skiing and snow boarding at Chestnut Mountain

·         Fishing at Shabbona Lake

·         Canoing on the Wisconsin and Kankakee Rivers

·          Rappelling at Bloomington

·        Survival Campout at Lakewood Forest Preserve

·        High Adventure Hiking at Isle Royale

·     High Adventure at Sea Base

·     Summer camp at Napawon

· Nanotechnology in conjunction with Northwestern University

Chartered in 1976, Troop 309 has been one of the best in Lake Zurich .   40 of our Scouts have completed the rank of Eagle.
